Ginger is without a doubt one of those intriguing flavors that can enrich any dish. It is the perfect balance between spicy and sweet. This versatile root has become a favorite go-to ingredient for kitchen lovers who not only enjoy its taste but take advantage of its many health benefits. That’s why we’ve created 3 healthy recipes with ginger for you to make at home.
Tropical Ginger Smoothie
Here are the ingredients you’ll need for 1 serving:
3/4 cup Pineapple (diced)
1 tbsp Ground Flax Seed
1 1/2 tbsp Ginger (peeled and grated)
2 cups Baby Spinach
1/2 cup Water
4 Ice Cubes
1/4 cup Blueberries
How to make Tropical Ginger Smoothie:
Throw all ingredients EXCEPT blueberries into the blender. Blend for a minute or until smooth.
2. Pour 3/4 of the mix into a glass (or a mason jar if you are on the go), leaving some space at the top.
3. Add blueberries to the leftover mix and blend again for about 30 seconds. Spoon the blueberry mixture on top of the green mix. Enjoy!
Carrot Ginger Dressing
Here are the ingredients you’ll need for 1 serving:
1/3 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1/3 cup Rice Vinegar
2 Carrot (about 2/3 cup, peeled and roughly chopped)
2 tbsp Ginger
2 tbsp Lime Juice
1 tsp Honey
1 1/2 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil 1/4 tsp Salt (more to taste)
How to make a Carrot Ginger Dressing:
In a blender, combine all the salad dressing ingredients as listed. Blend until completely smooth. Taste, and add additional salt if the dressing doesn’t make your eyes light up. If it’s too sour (it should have some zing to it), blend in a bit more honey.
Ginger Lime Tahini Dressing
Here are the ingredients you’ll need for 12 servings:
2 Lime (juiced)
1/3 cup Tahini
1/2 cup Water
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Ginger (peeled and grated) 2 tbsp Tamari
2 tbsp Maple Syrup
How to make a Ginger Lime Tahini Dressing
Combine all ingredients in a jar, close the lid tightly and shake vigorously until well combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Keep in mind:
Serve it with salad, summer rolls, zucchini noodles, or fish (as a marinade).
Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight jar up to one week.
Serving Size: One serving is equal to approximately two tablespoons of dressing.
