If you have fair skin like me, summertime = sunburn. No matter how diligent I am with wearing sunscreen, there always comes a day where the sun is extra strong and I don’t reapply as often as I should. So basically, I’ve become an expert at what to do when a bad sunburn strikes!

Frequent cold baths and showers to relieve the pain | leave a little water on your skin afterwards and apply moisturizer immediately

Moisturizer that contains aloe vera or soy to soothe sunburned skin | hydrocortisone cream that you can also help is one particular place feels worse than others…this can be found at a drugstore without a prescription

Aspirin or motrin to help reduce swelling, discomfort, or redness

Drink lots of extra water and stay hydrated | consuming extra water when you are sunburned helps prevent dehydration since sunburn draws fluids from your skin

Protect sunburned skin as it’s healing with fabrics that protect skin from the sun’s rays | wear clothing that covers your skin when outdoors…tightly-woven fabrics that don’t let light through them work best

Sunburns SUCK...but these tips will definitely make them more bearable and help them heal faster.
